Cafe Blurb: Dark Village
I shouldn’t be here.
This far away from anything I have ever known yet so close to the one who has my heart.
He came here- not by choice. He lured here by a force that was greater than my own.
A sire. no doubt but I was not about to back down if I came face to face with him…or her.
The natives were quiet and appeared to be oblivious to what the world had suddenly exposed. Maybe the “virus” had not hit their country yet or maybe they knew of the virus but figured it to just be an American thing.
Either way, he was here with his sire so now their country was exposed too.
My navigator slowly dipped his makeshift oar in the water then pulled it with all his might. The oar was a combination of strong bamboo for the handle and a small plank of wood with a rounded edge. He glanced at me in silence but his dark eyes were questioning me in his head.
Why are you here?
What can you gain from being here?
Maybe you’re a spy…a cop or worse…a demon.
“Demon.” I repeated his last word out loud. He jumped and blinked hard.
Did I say that out loud?
How did she hear me?
I opened my mouth to respond but pursed my lips together. I could not afford to reveal myself, especially to a complete stranger.
“How far are we?” I asked, doing my best to help him forget that I just read his mind.
“Not far.” He answered with his thick accent bleeding through. “Just right up this way.” I nodded and finally he found the strength to interrogate me. “What did you come for?”
“A friend.” I replied sternly.
“No friend is worth all this trouble.” He pointed out. “Is he like you?” My eyes burned into him and I watched his Adam’s apple sink deep into his throat then return to the middle.
“Like me?”
“A dark one?” He said.
“Is that like a demon?” I questioned, remembering that he had questioned my origins earlier. He shook his head.
“No. Dark ones live in the night and rest in the day. They feed on blood…lots and lots of blood.”
“Are there many here?”
“Only a few. Are there many in America?” I turned away from him to look at the deepening horizon.
“Millions.” I answered. “This village, are they familiar with dark ones?”
“Yes.” He smiled. “In fact I think this is where you will find your friend.” He added. The small boat pulled into a small harbor; the smell of dead fish and blood filled my nose. I stared at my guide; he nodded as if knowing what I was about to say.
“This is the Dark Village. Your friend should be here.”
“Alive?” I questioned. The guide said nothing as he helped me from the boat and back on solid ground. My legs almost gave way but I closed my eyes to regain my balance. I looked at the native again, hoping that he would answer my question positively. “Is he safe here?”
“No.” The guide uttered before he pushed the boat away from the harbor and started to row away as quickly as his little arms could go. I stood there and watched him until he disappeared into a patch of heavy fog.
Welcome to the Dark Village.

My son, Gralyn Charles.
I am starting a special photo collection for him called Weekly Shades of Gray (yeah I kinda ripped off Fifty Shades….oh well) Here are a few pics that showcase his first week at home…
All he did was sleep…and he still does.
I thank God that I was able to get him on somewhat of a schedule :)

THIS is the face of a tired Mommy :)
Hello all!
Well it has been over a week since I gave birth to my third- and final baby!
Born at 6:05am on May 19th, 2011….
His name is Gralyn Charles and he has completed my family and my life :)
Words cannot express the joy that I feel when I look at him, my lil geisha and lil samurai!
The Hubby was just wonderful from beginning to end while I was in labor and during the delivery….
He was just as emotional as me and he is a very reserved man.
Gralyn entered the world weighing 9lbs 1oz and was 21.5 inches long.
A true blessing indeed.
While I have been posting pictures, I have been taking some with my Nikon as well (I am gonna edit a few now before I go to bed with him.) And I have taken a brief hiatus from FB (too much going on there and I getting sick of the same ole posts on there from people I am beginning to dislike….yeah a whole new story there.)
But I wanted to thank everyone on here for the well wishes and comments and welcome my new followers!
Stay blessed all!
